Our small groups have kicked off for this Spring and we are focused on Experiencing God. But just what does this imply? Experiencing God is much greater than simply learning more about Him. We can have all kinds of knowledge about God and how he operates in our world and remain aloof from Him and ineffective for His kingdom.
The key aspect in experiencing God, is in becoming aware that your Lord is active all around you. It is surprising how quickly you can see the activity of God in the lives of people once you tune into the fact that God is actively at work.
Awareness is the starting point. From there the question arises. . . what will I do when I see God at work? Just as in the days of the apostles, Jesus' call is the same today -- "follow me and you will become fishers of men." When you see God at work, are you willing to roll up your sleeves and become involved in the work God is already doing? If you are willing to act in this way, you will begin to see God use you and the gifts He has given to you. When you move in faith in this manner the glory will go to your Lord and His kingdom will increase.
Soli Deo Gloria!
